Pitching our idea

Today was a really important because we had our first meeting with Matt, he was wither going to give us the green light or completely shut down two of our final ideas. We started by explaining to Matt our two movie ideas and then we expanded with our opening sequence ideas. Unlike any other group two of the ideas that we presented to him worked. He definitely preferred the idea with the school boy taking Prozac. Although the talk with him had gone really well, he told us that we had to think about a couple of factors and possibly switch a few scenes and settings around.

The ideas that he gave us:

1. Try to set the scene in a private hospital waiting room, as our theme was the overprescription of medication.

2. Mess around with the order of the scenes and make the main character aware of this. So there could be 'De ja voux', or the character walks into a room and keeps reciting the same words, as if he's living through the same day over and over again.

3. Distort the picture so it gives the audience the same side effects of taking these drugs. This could potentially be down with different kinds of visual effects.

After this meeting we had decided to speak about our options the day after and see if anything else that could benefit our sequence would come up during the day.
