Artist: Angel Olsen
Due to the song having such naturalistic and organic tones, it makes it easier to decide on the music videos format. In my imagination I see the video starting off with just the singer singing on her own (no band behind her) in the background there would be a creme color wall with an old chair standing in the middle. The girl would sometimes sing into the camera and other times facing away, looking into different directions. In the first minute of the video, we would have cross cuts from the girl in the blank space to supposedly her during her childhood with her sister. The rest of the video would be based around the girl and the band behind her appearing individually. The song itself is 7:46 minutes - which means that we would have to shorten the song and make it into a shorter version or possibly radio version. The main singer would have have a simple but alternative look to her, the band behind her would add to the same style of clothes.
Below is a screenshot of Adele's music video for her award winning song 'Rolling in the Deep', this is a similar concept that I would like to incorporate into my music video for 'Sister'. However, Instead of having ropes and an 'abandoned' background there will be a chair, her sitting in a blank room with a small painting on the wall, hanging unevenly on the left side.
There are a couple of artists that I think convey a similar message and have the same 'indie rock' vibe to them, these would be both Lorde and Lana Del Rey. Both artists have a complementary audience and grungy side to them, although of course both have their differences as well. The way that they convey their music, through simplicity and individualism makes Lana and Lorde stand out from the crowd - this would be the type of direction that I would want the whole style and music to go towards during this music video.

There is a good range of research here, Dasha, particularly focussing on female artists in a variety of genres. If you end up with a male band/artist, it may be necessary to supplement this a bit further, but the range of reference is generally impressive.
